EVENTS AND PROPOSALS

BREAKTHROUGH LEADERSHIP ALUMNI EVENT FOR MULTINATIONAL PROFESSIONAL SERVICES NETWORK AND ACCOUNTING ORGANIZATION

As the sole Creative Director, I created the strategy, theme and content from concept/proposal through execution of the multi-day event. The goal/strategy was threefold: 1) celebrate the company’s diversity and the next generation of minority and female leaders; 2) make the event fun; 3) make the event a recognition of the alum’s achievement.

Because the event was being held in Hollywood, Florida, an Oscars-like award show format was used to frame the event along with TV games/show parodies to help convey information in a fun way and make the participants feel like “stars.”

Feedback ranked the event as one of the most successful ever for the company.

  • Conceived of “Hollywood Award Show” motif and “Breakthrough to the Future” theme and all correlative features and components

  • Created ScreenPlay games (like those on screen before a movie) including lookalike employees/celebrities, company trivia, staff factoids, etc.

  • Wrote and helped visually execute parody movie trailers and posters that applied to company initiatives (example, “The Breakthrough Club”, using photos of Breakthrough Leaders in a Breakfast Club-style trailer.)

  • Wrote a game show parody “Are You Smarter Than a Partner?” with company messaging, and a View-like talk show

  • Wrote and created web-based pre-event and post-event communications

  • Created an interactive ice-breaker game – based on my book, The Official Movie Plot Generator, where guests had to work together to combine different elements of a company story to make a blockbuster movie and title it

We adapted my book, The Official Movie Plot Generator, to have industry/company relevant content. Groups worked together to find combinations and construct a movie narrative that reenforced messaging goals. It served as a great ice-breaker for emplo…

We adapted my book, The Official Movie Plot Generator, to have industry/company relevant content. Groups worked together to find combinations and construct a movie narrative that reenforced messaging goals. It served as a great ice-breaker for employees who had never met, and helped engage attendees become active participants in crafting stories that connected to content goals.

  • Wrote a “Joy of Discovery” proposal based around the idea of new viewing platforms for Discovery

  • Sculpture Garden included a giant fish with shimmering cell phone screen scales (Wildlife), an “Apple Tree” (Nature), a tricked-out van with video screens everywhere (Technology), and more.

PFIZER SLEEP DRUG LAUNCH, WRITER, ASSOCIATE CREATIVE DIRECTOR

  • Helped conceive creative direction and wrote portions of a “Wake Up to a New Day” proposal for a four million dollar drug launch event

  • Wrote video scripts/improv games/sketches related to the theme

  • Integrated messaging into entire experience including “wake-up calls” with messaging specifically geared to the event woven into the hotel call service and sleep factoids on the cafe’s coffee sleeves

Connecting the environment to the theme: The stage/scenic was designed to flow from “day” to “night” correlating with real time by using changes in lighting color and the use of movement of circular and crescent shapes.

SCRIPT/PROPOSAL WRITER FOR THE WORLD’S LARGEST LOGISTICS COMPANY

  • Conceived of experiments for MythBusters stars to illustrate messaging: the theme of “Connection”

  • Experiments included an egg drop competition: “Materials working together” (to symbolize company divisions working together); a Van de Graff Generator showing the power of “Connection” where people hold hands, passing a mild electric shock between them; and explosive chemical reactions to show the power of synergy/connection

  • Wrote “Hit or Myth” quizzes, featuring visual stunt answers by hosts
