Justin Heimberg is an entrepreneur, screenwriter, creative director, speechwriter and best-selling author. Most recently, as a speechwriter, Justin has worked on speeches with President Biden’s senior speechwriter for senators and government officials.

As a professional TV and film writer for twenty years, Justin has worked with most major movie studios and has written for Fox’s “The Cleveland Show.” Justin also created Audible’s “Things We Don’t Talk About,” a 10x30 minute episodic series starring Emmy winner Luke Kirby and Lauren Lapkus, which debuted in the top ten most listened to podcasts on Audible.

Justin’s corporate work (as a Creative Director and Writer) includes brand strategy and messaging, and writing proposals, events, plays, games, scripts, songs, speeches, themes, and films for corporations, events, and conferences. He has worked with top Corporate Communication agencies including Viva Creative, August Jackson, MJM, and T!LT. His corporate clients have included LEGO, Deloitte, Pfizer, Discovery Channel, American Express, FedEx, and BAE Systems. Justin’s work is known for its humor and out-of-the-box thinking while maintaining meaningful messaging.

Justin has co-founded three media companies. Most recently, he cofounded Playfusion, a transmedia company, pioneering the next generation of connected interactive entertainment through original IP and proprietary technology platforms. In partnership with Tomy Toys and Toys R Us, Playfusion released its first property, Lightseekers, a multimedia game/toy described as “Skylanders on Steroids.” Playfusion then developed in-store AR retail technology for Lego, Animal Planet, Barbie and more. Following its success, Playfusion’s technology was used to found another company, Beauty Labs, which was sold to a public company for $140 million including earn-outs.

Before PlayFusion, Justin was a founding member of the international transmedia company Lazoo Worldwide where he served as Chief Creative Officer, Content. At Lazoo, Justin set the creative vision and oversaw the creative team behind Lazoo’s media endeavors (experiential in-store media/retail centers, an app network, animation, a television show for the Canadian Broadcast Channel, books, and content related to over 300 Lazoo consumer product skus, bringing in more than $10 million in revenue in its first year.) He also led Lazoo Creative, Lazoo’s digital services and brand consultancy offshoot including clients PBS and Spin Master.

Prior to Lazoo, Justin co-founded and was Co-Publisher and Editor-in-Chief for Seven Footer Press. As an editor, creative consultant, and co-writer, Justin has collaborated with everyone from New York Times crossword editor Will Shortz to South Park writers, and struck and maintained relationships with Barnes & Noble, Urban Outifitters, and other retailers. 

Justin is the author of over twenty humor books which have sold over 2 million copies. His books range from adult humor to children’s adventure novels and include the bestselling Would You Rather…? series which has spawned a board game, a DVD game starring Howie Mandel, and a game show in development. He has served as a humor writer and contributing editor for magazines including Esquire, MAD, Details, and Men’s Journal.

As a screenwriter in Hollywood, Justin led a double-life, spending his mornings writing and pitching movie studios, and his afternoons as Associate Director and Teaching Artist for Street Poets, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization that conducted writing workshops in L.A.’s juvenile detention centers. Street Poets used the transformational power of the creative process to help gang and at-risk youth turn their lives around.

Justin is a professionally trained improvisational performer, having been taught at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and at L.A.’s Improv Olympic, including one-time teacher Amy Poehler. His volunteer work includes continuing to work with Street Poets, Inc., teaching story-telling at Gallaudet, Montgomery County tutoring, and serving as a mentor for Comfort Zone Camp, a bereavement camp for children who have lost parents.

A cum laude graduate from Duke University, Justin holds a B.A. in English with a writing concentration.

Justin lives in the Washington DC/Baltimore area, but is flexible to work in many locations, includng hybrid and remote work.
